Welcome to Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a 5,000-year-old holistic approach to healing that is composed of support systems that help the body's vital energy (Qi) flow properly. TCM is based on the understanding that the body is electrical and chemical.
These two forms of energy can be assisted through acupuncture (electrical energy field) and herbal teas (chemical energy field). Acupuncture and herbs work together to promote, stimulate and support the body's own natural healing mechanisms to restore and maintain good health.
Acupuncture is safe, effective and free from addictive side effects.
Herbal Medicine is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. When herbs are prescribed in conjunction with acupuncture and other treatments, the therapeutic result is extremely effective.
The majority of Chinese herbal Medicines are make from organic substances such as plants, rhizomes, minerals, and animal products. Dr. Zhang carefully selects only herbal remedies that rarely elicit side effects and have been proven safe and effective over thousands of years of use.
The Therapeutic Relationship
TCM works best when patients participate fully with the physician in their recovery and overall health. Dr. Zhang will suggest an effective management skills to achieve well-being and freedom from disease.
TCM helps the body to heal itself. Furthermore, the patient learns how to prevent the recurrence of illness through continued awareness and renewal of both physical well-being and spiritual harmony.
TCM recognizes that each individual is unique. Every patient receives a customized treatment program directed toward enhancing the dynamic of the body's immune system, strengthering the organ functions and permitting the proper flow of energy.
Chinese Medicine does not work to eradicate disease, but works with the patient's own body and mind to achieve healing from within.
